Is This Tournament a Good Fit?
This two-day state championship offers something for players at every level, with separate sections for Open, Under 1600, and Under 1000 competitors. The Swiss format and reasonable entry fee of $45–$75 make it accessible, while the time controls—ranging from G/60+30 in the early rounds to G/90+30 later—balance quick play with enough time for thoughtful chess. If you're looking for a well-organized weekend event that won't break the bank, this is a solid fit.
