Is This Tournament a Good Fit?
This weekend tournament at the historic Mechanics' Institute offers a 4-round Swiss with classical time controls (G/90+30), making it ideal for players who want a serious but manageable competition without a huge time commitment. Sections are divided by rating—2000+, 1600–1999, and Under 1600—so you'll compete among peers at your level. With entry fees of $70–$100, it's reasonably priced for a Bay Area classical event.
