Is This Tournament a Good Fit?
This weekend Swiss is ideal if you're looking for a classical-pace event with serious play—G/90+30 gives you time to think—without a huge time commitment over just two days. The Open section welcomes players rated 1600+, while the U1800 section accommodates anyone 1000+ who wants to play at that level, and FIDE-titled players get in free. With a modest entry fee and four rounds of competitive chess, it's a solid choice for intermediate to advanced players in the Chicago area.
